Fort Moultrie
I really recommend Fort Moultrie over Fort Sumter if you're looking for the most bang for your buck. For a minimal admission fee, you get to explore a pretty substantial fort with lots of great exhibits. In addition, the fort is easily accessible on the southern tip of Sullivan's Island and is much less crowded than Sumter. If you finish up a little early, you can head down to the beach a short walk away.
